In a general classification, fragrances can be divided in three main groups: pure fragrant materials, fine fragrances and functional fragrances. Perfume is a fine fragrance which is made through combination of pure natural and synthetic materials. Thus, a perfume is usually consisted of up to 50 components. Although the components have their own characteristic odor but their combination features a new odor. But even most different perfumes have some similarities. This is due to their common ingredients. Like to the music listening in which our ear can distinguish between different notes, our nose also can recognize different ingredients of a perfume, and if he/she experienced some other perfumes before, he/she can understand their similar notes
