It is a pleasure to finish the translation of this valuable book »THE CHEMISTRY OF FRAGRANCES FROM PERFUMER TO CONSUMER« and to submit it to the community of fragrance in Iran.
Fragrance industry in Iran is unnoticed and the activities in this field are more done in the essence extraction workshops. More over the lack of perfume industry in the country, we have the lack of related academic disciplines, academic resources compilation and translation, forums and specialized information. All this made me to translate this book, so that it will be a good guidance for the talented people in this area. I always hope that Iran makes progress in the production of raw materials and fragrance compounds and meets its own needs.
There are useful and significant contents in this book about the olfactory, perfume’s history and its evolution, the emergence of new fragrances, natural aromatic substances and their extraction, natural and chemical ingredients of modern fragrances, the differences between natural and synthetic raw materials, formula and molecular structure of raw materials, the use of fragrance in different industries, the structure of perfume production plant, how to produce perfumes requested by the customer, perfumer performance in designing a fragrance, scent characteristics and influencing factors, toxicology and perfume, how to apply perfume in the final product, Analysis of fragrances and their ingredients.
This book with a scientific perspective and practical contents is useful for the community of fragrance such as people who pursue scientific and technical perfumery, professionals who are engaged in this industry, merchants and vendors of fragrances, technical officials and experts of cosmetics factories and people who are interested in perfume and normally consume fragrances. That's why this book is named THE CHEMISTRY OF FRAGRANCES FROM PERFUMER TO CONSUMER, so it can be used for all people who are seeking to become familiar with the chemistry of fragrance and all ordinary people and Consumers.
We hope that this study would increase the information of fragrance vendors and other people who are dealing with perfume and its related industries and it would also have grate impact in their output.
One of advantage of this book is the special focus on FRAGRANCE and
Not sidetracking the issue talking about the FLAVOURS. This has led the author to talk about all the areas associated with fragrance and this has increase the value of the book, the only topic that the author has not discussed is related to the medical field which is Aromatherapy.
A lot of time spent to translate this book in order to be smooth, more over it has been translated regarding the principle of translation in trying to be faithful to transfer the auteur’s meaning Mr. David Pybus and it has also paid scientific attention to the technical part of the book.
Due to today’s advances in technology and frequent changes in fragrance industry the numbers and statistics of this book refers to year of its publishing and it may not be in accordance with today’s information. For more detailed information you should refer to the up to date statistics.
I hope more related books are translated and compiled in the future And we also continue this path to improve people knowledge in the field of perfume and have a share in developing and progressing the perfume industry of the country . Finally I would like to appreciate Mr.Babaei for his special consideration in reviewing this book.
